with special guests Tadhg Ó Meachair and Joanna Hyde
Hawktail is the instrumental acoustic quartet of fiddler Brittany Haas, bassist Paul Kowert, guitarist Jordan Tice, and mandolinist
Dominick Leslie. Though at first glance it looks like an acoustic superpicker side-project, their all-original music is cohesive and
unique, distinguishing them as an ensemble with a sound built from the ground up. Flush with orchestral sweeps and sparse vigils,
with strains of the American South and the North Atlantic, this cosmopolitan sound is not what you'd expect from a string band.
Hawktail will be celebrating the release of their latest album “Place of Growth.”
Doors open 30 minutes before each performance for this general admission event. You can pick up your will-call at the Bloom Box office located at the Buskirk-Chumley theater during our regular business hours up until 4pm on the day of the show. After that tickets will be available at FAR Gallery when doors open. If the event does not sell out tickets will be available at the door.
The Hand Picked music series is a series of concerts located at the FAR Center for Contemporary Arts.
