ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The Lotus World Music & Arts Festival is Indiana’s annual celebration of world music, arts, and culture. A four-day festival for people of all ages, ethnicities, abilities, and backgrounds that is supported by countless community partners, sponsors, and volunteers. Through the Festival, Lotus creates – on a grand scale – the rare opportunity for audiences to experience places far removed from their everyday routines and to broaden their worldview through the arts. Lotus attracts more than 12,000 people each fall, and takes place across downtown Bloomington, Indiana on the ancestral homelands of myaamiaki, Lënape, Bodwéwadmik, and saawanwa people. This year, Lotus Festival will showcase over 25 different artists and groups from around the globe including American roots and folk music, reflecting the tapestry of immigrant experiences. Distinguished among other music festivals, Lotus Fest presents a non-hierarchical mix of performers and musicians highlighting the exceptional talent and unique characteristics of each artist. Join us for a weekend celebrating and exploring the diversity of the world’s cultures through music, art, food, dance, workshops, and fun for the whole family!
ACCESSING THE FESTIVAL
The Thursday Opening Concert is a general admission event, requiring a paper ticket. To access the festival on Friday or Saturday night, trade your ticket in for a wristband that provides access to all Festival venues, allowing listeners to sample, discover, and relish unexpected encounters. To join the Lotus Closing Concert on Sunday, flash your 2023 Commemorative Pin at the door instead of a ticket.
In addition to ticketed Festival activities, Lotus also presents free events. Lotus in the Meadow in IU’s Dunn Meadow located at 7th & Indiana on 9/14 at 7pm and Lotus in the Park at Waldron Hill Buskirk Park on 9/30 at noon. Lotus is committed to accessibility and to drawing the widest possible cross-section of participants to become part of the music and arts of the world around us.

All-Inclusive Pass (9/28 -10/01) The Lotus All-Inclusive Package includes a ticket to Thursday’s concert, a weekend (Friday & Saturday) pass, and a Lotus pin for admission to Sunday’s concert. Save time and money with this one-click purchase option! Prices increase on Thursday 9/28.
Weekend Pass (9/29 – 9/30) A weekend pass is your passport to all 15+ globe-spanning performances on Friday and Saturday night! Venues across downtown range from the Buskirk-Chumley Theater, to standing-room-only street tents, to churches where traditional music shines. This is a single ticket which will be traded in for a weekend pass wristband. Prices increase on Friday 9/29.

This is a ticket which will be traded in for a Friday pass wristband. Prices increase on Friday 9/29. Student, Senior, and group discounts available.
Saturday Pass (9/30) A Saturday pass is your passport to all 15+ globe-spanning performances on Saturday night! Venues across downtown range from the Buskirk-Chumley Theater, to standing-room-only street tents, to churches where traditional music shines. This is a ticket which will be traded in for a Saturday pass wristband. Prices increase on Saturday 9/30. Student, Senior, and group discounts available.
Sunday Closing Concert/Pin (10/01) On sale 8/29. The 2023 Commemorative Pin gets you into the Sunday Closing Concert, the 30th Festival’s heartfelt wrap-up event. Pins are available at the Box Office (114 E. Kirkwood Ave.) and at the Festival store (location tbd). Pins are not available online, unless purchased as part of an All-Inclusive Package.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
● Children 2 and younger can access the festival for free and do not need tickets, wristbands, or pins.
● Those attending the showcases on Friday or Saturday nights are encouraged to purchase and pick up their paper tickets in advance at the Box Office. Those tickets must be traded in at the Lotus Wristband Tent starting at 5:30pm and already having your ticket in hand means that you can skip the potential line at the Lotus Ticketing Tent.
● Those purchasing a Weekend Pass will be issued a wristband on Friday night that they will need to wear over Saturday in order to access the festival Saturday evening.
● All Festival venues are wheelchair-accessible.
